Severance, 2024, Martin Wong Gallery
Four months of daily kinetic drawings.
I was curious about what my body was doing while my mind was at work. 'Severance' reflects on the demands of digital engagement, where our physical bodies often take a backseat to the activities on our screens. While made at my desk, this exploration encompasses everywhere we are on our screens—standing in line, commuting, at dinner, cafes, or walking in a park. What is your body doing while your mind is immersed in a screen? Does our cultural requirement to disassociate with the body affect our capacity for empathy and connection?
